Nicosia and Moscow have agreed on the complete liberalisation of charter flights to Cyprus for the winter season.
The move was announced Friday evening by Transport Minister Tasos Mitsopoulos and will be signed on Monday in Nicosia.
The deal is likely to most benefit the Famagusta region, according to reports. Destinations in that district are all but shut in the winter as they say they have no incentive to stay open for minimal numbers.
