Travelling to Polis / Latchi from Coral Bay is extremely scenic and just outside the village of Kathikas you will come across a panoramic viewpoint with amazing views of Coral Bay and all the way back to Paphos. A camera is a must for this day out. As you enter the village on the right hand side there is a donkey rescue sanctuary where the kids can take a donkey ride and feed them as well. Kathikas village is a wine growing area and there are two wineries you can visit, sample the wines and purchase some if you wish. On arrival in Latchi why not head straight to the Baths of Aphrodite, where underneath an old fig tree, shaded from the warm Cyprus sun, is a small natural grotto. Water flows down a wall of rock and forms a pool amongst the moss. It is here that legend says Aphrodite would come to bathe. According to Greek mythology, she met her lover Adonis at the pool when he stopped for a drink while hunting.Â
Next on list of stops should be Latchi harbour. Lined with coffee shops and local restaurants, here you can take a break for lunch and simply watch the world go by. Latchi Harbour is home to luxury mega yachts, private cruisers and local fishing boats, The harbour / marina is still a working fishing port where the fish severed in the restaurants comes straight from the boats.
