Places to eat in Coral Bay: Oniro by the sea

Dining at Oniro by the Sea: A Culinary Adventure with a View

Ever taken a mate’s advice on a restaurant, only to find out it’s about as useful as a chocolate teapot? That was me with Oniro by the Sea. Rumor had it, prices were sky-high and tables were as rare as hen’s teeth without a booking. Well, folks, I’m here to spill the beans: “The times they are a-changin’,” and it’s all good news at Coral Bay restaurants.

Reservations Made Easy

No more wild goose chases! Oniro’s got an online booking system now. You can snag your spot and make special requests. Trust me, nab a table on one of the platforms. The view’s a showstopper, with a shipwreck scene that’s both majestic and a tad melancholic.

Ambiance and Design

Oniro by the Sea is a feast for the eyes, spacing out tables just right. The cove, cliffs, and shipwreck set a dramatic stage that steals the spotlight from many seaside spots. “A picture is worth a thousand words,” and this place is Instagram gold.

A Culinary World Tour

Let’s chew the fat about the food. The menu’s a globe-trotter’s delight with homemade prawn dumplings, arancini, garlic butter prawns, and Cypriot treats. Salads, dips, and flatbreads to share—veggie and vegan options too if you ask. We skipped starters, diving headfirst into mains.

We feasted on three standout dishes. The Tiger Prawn Linguine was my prized dish. I guarded it like a dragon with its treasure, from the roasted tomatoes and florina peppers to the ouzo, white wine, mascarpone, and cheese sauce, crowned with king prawns. Not a seafood fan? No problemo, they’ll serve it without.

Our guest went for the Asian Duck, teamed with jasmine egg fried rice and a veggie medley—flavor bomb! The Sea Bass Fillet, with potato-garlic skordalia, lemon vinaigrette, and greens, was also a hit. Each dish was a work of art, served on pottery as charming as the cuisine.

Decadent Desserts and Delightful Drinks

Perusing Oniro’s dessert menu is like being a kid in a sweet shop. Portions are meant for sharing. We picked two: the Chocolate Cream Choux, with chocolate ganache, fresh raspberries, and banana sauce, was a textural delight. The Orange and Ginger Pie with kaimaki ice cream was less memorable but still enjoyable.

Oniro’s cocktails are the talk of the town. Alcoholic or not, there’s a sip for everyone. We washed down our meal with a Cypriot wine from a curated selection.

The Price of Paradise

On the cost front, I beg to differ with my mates’ tall tales of exorbitant prices. The saying “you get what you pay for” fits like a glove here. With its killer location, top-notch food, and spot-on service, Oniro by the Sea dishes out a dining experience worth every euro.
